Have you ever seen children watch a live performance? Have you seen their faces light up, their bodies move with the music, and their joyful expressions reflect what they see on the stage? Live theatre stimulates children’s imaginations in ways nothing else can. And when the performance features characters kids know and love from a book, the connections they make are truly magical!
- Mary Pope Osborne
The On Stage element of Mary Pope Osborne’s Magic Tree House world began in 2007 with an adaptation of
Magic Tree House Merlin Mission #1, Christmas in Camelot. With her blessing, Mary’s playwright/lyricist husband
Will Osborne teamed with composer Randy Courts to transport Jack and Annie’s adventures from page to stage in a full-scale, Broadway-style musical. The result? A musical adventure full of rollicking tunes and rich orchestrations that proved to be a delightful experience for the whole family. The show (then titled Magic Tree House: The Musical) toured 54 cities during the 2008-2009 season, released a cast album, and was subsequently produced by a touring company in Germany.
Since then, many more of Mary’s enchanting tales have been brought to life on stage. Our Magic Tree House On Stage website is proud to feature all the currently available shows, which range from full scale professional extravaganzas like Christmas in Camelot to shows designed specifically to be performed by kids for their classmates and families.
Thanks for visiting our site. We hope you enjoy the ride!
